Journalists

The people who keep Gaza visible — and the families of those killed doing it.

Why this community

Journalists in Gaza are doing work of enormous consequence — recording what happened and what is still happening. Sustaining them is essential if the truth is to continue getting out. When a journalist is killed, the record thins; when a journalist’s family is left without support, the profession itself becomes impossible to continue.

What we do

We run an ongoing program supporting working journalists and the families of journalists who have been killed. We coordinate this work directly with the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate.

Why it is ours in particular

Our organization is made up of journalists. The people this program supports are our colleagues. We are not an outside body assisting a profession — we are that profession, supporting itself.

Nothing we do happens without people who decide to help. If you can give, give. If you can’t, share the work.
