Orphans

The most vulnerable community in Gaza, and the one that aid systems are least built to reach.

Why this community

Orphans in Gaza are the most vulnerable community of all. They have lost their parents, and with them the protection, income, supervision and stability that every child depends on. In a displacement setting, a child without parents is a child without an advocate — and aid systems are built around households.

What we do

We support a number of orphan camps. We rehabilitate and sustain their living spaces so that the place a child sleeps functions like a home rather than a holding area. We repair and equip their schools. We provide school supplies, clothing, food and water. We distribute the support while entertaining the children, to provide much emotional support.

What this makes possible

Continuity. A child who has lost everything else keeps a bed, a classroom and a routine.

Nothing we do happens without people who decide to help. If you can give, give. If you can’t, share the work.
