The Civil Defense crews in Gaza are the people who go towards a strike while everyone else is going away from it. They do it in vehicles that have been running without a proper parts supply for a long time, and a vehicle that is off the road is a crew that cannot reach anybody.
So we fund repairs. Tyres, batteries, hydraulics, welding, the unglamorous list. It is not the kind of thing that photographs well and it is the difference between a team responding and a team waiting.
A repaired ambulance is not a delivery. It is a vehicle that keeps reaching people for as long as it runs.
What we also supply
Alongside the vehicles we supply the crews themselves: cutting and lifting equipment, protective gear, and the consumables that get used up on every call-out. The requests come from the crews, not from us — they know what failed on the last shift.

This is ongoing work rather than a campaign. Vehicles that are worked this hard break again, and the point of the program is that there is somewhere for the crews to turn when they do.
